CT Colonography

CT colonography, also known as virtual colonoscopy, uses low dose radiation CT scanning to obtain an interior view of the large intestine that is otherwise only seen with a more invasive procedure where an endoscope is inserted into the rectum and passed through the entire colon.

How to Prepare?
Please fill the prescribed LoSo bowel preparation kit several days prior to the procedure date and follow its enclosed instructions.

Day prior to the procedure:
You may take all prescription medications. Abstain from solid foods. For each meal, you may have clear liquids, which includes clear soup (broth or bouillon), Gatorade, fruit-flavored drinks, strained fruit juice without pulp, black coffee or tea, flavored gelatin, and popsicles. On each hour from 1 to 9 PM, please drink 8 ounces of water. At 5:30 PM take the LoSo Prep Bowel Cleansing System; Mix as directed and drink entire contents. At 7:30 PM take the LoSo Prep Bowel Cleansing System; Take 4 Bisacodyl tablets. Do not eat after 9:15 PM.

Day of procedure:
Two (2) hours before the procedure, insert the Biscodyl Suppository included in the LoSo Bowel Prep Kit as directed. Retain the suppository for at least 15 minutes, if possible, before evacuating. Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing for your radiology procedure.
